Pava Partners advised the shareholders of calimoto GmbH on the sale of a majority stake to Russmedia Equity Partners (“RMEP”). calimoto is the leading global app for motorcyclists with a unique twisty roads algorithm. The founders, Sebastian Dambeck, Hans-Joachim Allenfort, and Luca Osten, continue to hold significant stakes in the company and remain with the company as the management team.

In his master thesis, Sebastian Dambeck developed the twisty roads algorithm that still makes calimoto unique today. Together with Hans-Joachim Allenfort and Luca Osten, he founded the company in April 2016; just one month later, calimoto was released as an Android app. With over four million users in 154 countries, calimoto is now the top-selling and most successful motorcycle app worldwide.

Together with RMEP, calimoto will continue on its growth path, focusing in particular on expanding the motorcycle community within the app and expanding into the American market. As part of the transaction, all business angels, Dr. Arndt Schwaiger, Dr. Jan Alberti, Prof. Dr. Roland Fassauer, Torben Schreiter, Harald Rönn, Ilja Reiner, Tom Kedor, Gerhard Mayr, and Robert Butz, also sold their shares in the company.
